In Windows PCs, most USB 3 devices can connect to USB 2 ports, which shouldn’t be much trouble. If your USB stick isn’t meant to work with your computer, then it won’t show up when you plug it in. Some computers can be slow and get overwhelmed by the multiple operations they have to run during startup, so it’s possible that your USB stick might be getting overlooked.
